Form 1 Selection 2012, ??

The process of selecting the respective form 1 candidatse in Kenya this  year has been rocked by a lot of difficulties due to the conflicting ideas of the various stakeholders.

While the actual selection was scheduled for January 13, 2012, which actually took place, as of  yesterday, January 22, a lobby group indicated that the process was not carried out fairly. This was spearheaded by The Association of Professional  Teachers.

“The criteria used has been too ruthless to many pupils who scored very well in the exam,” Tap’s chairman Abraham Kawewa said.

He added that the system was operating as though to punish pupils who scored good grades in the exam.

Kenya Private Schools Association (KPSA) was keen to point out that Lily Academy, Makini Schools, Good Shepherds and Mt Kenya Academy had been affected by this system of selection.

KPSA chairman John Mwai said that majority of the good performers in all these private schools, among others, have not been selected for secondary schools of their choice.

At the moment, a search of the relevant websites does not indicate anywhere where one can search for the place a student has been admitted, leaving calling Jogoo house the only viable option.

The relevant authorities should move fast to have this stalemate resolved.
