KCPE and KCSE KNEC Online Registration 2011

KCPE and KCSE KNEC Online Registration for 2011 has proved to be a mockery of  technology at our age. This one I can firmly state as a stakeholder in the Kenyan Education Sector.

Anyone who has tried to do online registration of students can attest that the KNEC system is one of the most poorly designed and slowest systems for such a big institution. I really despise whoever has developed such a system, with due apologies for the time wasted developing such a system.

On average, when using a connection speed of upto 3MBPs in my office, the shortest time it takes the knec website to repond to a request/click is more than 5 minutes. It takes upto 30 minutes to edit an error in a single student's details, and searching the database to begin with normally doesnt give accurate results. A case study is where i was searching index ******019 and the website erturns ******014. This is such a disgusting case given that it takes too uch time to retrieve that record.

I worry also for the students that have no birth certificaes because i am not sure what their fate is if KNEC does not soften their stand.

SOME INFORMATION
To register your institution, open the knec registration pages and choose Register Examination Centre, then follow the instructions.

Download the regisration applications for the respective examinations, KCPE or KCSE and fill in the details as accurately as possible, because rectifying from the online system is the most discouraging and time consuming process.

Once you are done, you can view the report to ensure that you entred the correct details. Note that this report truncates the Birth Certificate Number and any Long names.

Export the database, and upload this to the knec website. Here, patience with the SNAIL system is necessary.

For KCSE, put the photos of your students in a folder and reame them to the respective index numbers.

Send this folder to a zipped folder and upload to the KNEC system, again, go take some snack as you wait for this process to end.

Good luck if the system ever works....

Note that we have created copies of the needed applications to the Gskool website to ease their download and save some time that would otherwise be lost trying to access from the knec website.
Having completed, upload the necessary files to the KNEC Registration website, http://www.knec-registration.ac.ke
